Skyblock Ice, our Map #26, released Saturday, October 17th at 3:00 PM EST!
Ice is built on the same base as Skyblock Retro, with a full ice and snow theme and a lot of changes underneath. The biggest one is how islands earn money. On Retro, players moved through the first spawners far too quickly, and AFK farms ended up doing most of the work. This map slows spawner progression down and pays you more for actually playing: mining, farming and grinding with your set.
Below is everything that’s new, how it works, and what to do first.

🛡️ Armor Sets
Sets replace masks and custom enchants on Ice. Use /sets to open the menu. Everyone has access to four sets from day one:
- Farmer: built for crops.
- Grinder: built for mob grinding.
- Miner: built for your island mine.
- Diamond: built for PvP.
Every armor piece has its own enchants, usually two to six per piece, and each set comes with its own weapon or tool with enchants of its own. You upgrade enchants with XP levels, not money, so the experience you earn grinding is worth a lot this map.
You wear one full set at a time. Set armor locks into your armor slots, and the set’s tool or sword can’t be dropped. Use /sets unequip to take a set off. Set items never drop when you die in PvP, though the rest of your inventory still does. The Diamond set has Hardened, which gives it a chance to ignore durability loss.
Mythical sets
A new mythical set comes out every week, and it can only be won from that week’s loot box. Mythical sets carry every grinding and PvP enchant on every piece and tool, so you can fight and grind without switching gear. Each one is only available during its week, so if you want it, open that week’s loot box.
⛏️ Island Mines
Every island member gets their own placeable mine. Place it on your island and it builds a prison-style mine with a bedrock shell, up to six mines per island. Use /skymine to manage yours.
- Your mine is yours. Other island members and visitors can’t mine in it or upgrade it.
- Upgrade your mine through its menu to unlock better tiers.
- Mined blocks go into the mine’s storage chest, ready to sell.
- Sell bonuses from your set, pets and outposts all apply to mine sales.
The Miner set is built around your mine, so the two work best together. Mining is one of the strongest ways to earn early in the map.
🐉 Spawners and the Dragon
There are ten spawners in week 1, in a new order so it doesn’t feel like Retro again:
- Chicken
- Sheep
- Pig
- Creeper
- Skeleton
- Zombie
- Witch
- Blaze
- Polar Bear
- Dragon
To unlock the next spawner, turn in heads from the tier below it. The higher you go, the more heads it takes. The Dragon needs 12,500 heads from the tier before it. Every spawner also has three upgrades.
Spawners are meant to be steady passive income this map, so their drops sell for less than before. Grinding your mine, farming crops and leveling pets is where the bigger money is.
At the top is the Dragon spawner, which spawns the Frostwyrm: a custom, fully animated dragon that spawns on your island like any other mob and stacks like the rest of your spawners.
📦 iChests and Recipes
iChests collect and store the drops from your farms so you don’t need walls of hoppers and chests.
- Normal iChest: fed by hoppers, with 5 item slots.
- OP iChest: collects drops in its chunk automatically, with 5 item slots.
- Admin iChest: the rare top tier, collecting across a 3×3 chunk area with 10 item slots.
Each slot claims the first item type it collects. Sell All always leaves one of each item behind, so your slots stay claimed. Use Remove All if you want to free a slot for a different item.
New on Ice, iChests have recipes. Instead of selling every drop as it comes in, an iChest can craft your drops into higher-value items.
To start, you need a recipe book. You get them from crates and events. Drag the book onto the recipe slot in your iChest, or shift-click it from your inventory, and the iChest starts crafting with the drops it collects.
🎁 Crates and the Weekly Loot Box
Ice has three permanent crate tiers:
- ❄️ Snowball Crate
- 🧊 IceShard Crate
- 🏔️ Glacier Crate
On top of those, there’s the Monthly Crate and a weekly loot box. The weekly loot box changes every week, and that week’s mythical set can only be won from it.
Week 1’s loot box is the Spooky Crate, with a matching Spooky bundle on the store. All crates sit together at spawn, and each one shows how many keys you have.
⚡ Booster Boxes
Booster boxes give you personal boosters that stack on top of your normal earnings. Open /boosters to see what you have running. Boosters queue up on their own, so you can stack several and they’ll run one after another without you having to start each one.
❄️ New Rank Names
The donor ranks have been renamed to fit the theme. Here’s how the old names line up with the new ones:

Aurora includes a weekly kit with Clouds, Monthly keys and that week’s loot box.
☁️ Clouds
Clouds are PvPCloud’s premium currency. 100 Clouds is worth $1, and you can spend them in the in-game Cloud shop on ranks and other rewards. Aurora can’t be bought with Clouds.
⚔️ KOTH
Ice’s KOTH is The Mine, a mining-shaft arena that starts about every two to three hours. Watch chat for the announcement and bring your Diamond or mythical set.
